I am a Chartered Clinical Psychologist and have worked within mental health settings for over 10 years. I have extensive experiences working with both individuals and teams across a range of settings including both inpatient and outpatient settings within private, charity and the NHS sectors.
I really enjoy my role as a Clinical Psychologist and getting the opportunity to work with so many different people. Throughout my career I have worked with children, adolescents, adults and older adults (65+). In my private practice I now specialise in working with adults and older adults.
The role can be very diverse and require a range of different skills depending on individual needs of the client. Whether that be an individual, a couple or a group of people. I love being able to work collaboratively with people and help them to find ways to achieve their goals. I enjoy being creative with my clients, spending time understanding their experiences and working together to make a positive and lasting difference to their lives, whatever that may look like to them.
My Approach
“A solution to fit your needs.”
Sometimes it is difficult to see a way through your difficulties when you are in the middle of it. You may have felt this way for a long time, or it might be something that has happened suddenly. It can feel overwhelming and the pressure can build up. It’s common for this build up to happen without us even noticing. It is likely you will feel this build up of pressure both physically (tiredness, headaches, tension, pain) and mentally (stressed, anxious, low in mood, snappy). My aim is to provide you with a space where you feel comfortable to share your experiences and feel understood whatever might be going on for you at the moment.
Together we will develop an understanding of your experiences, your goals and how we will achieve these. I will help you to find the way forward and empower you to take action to achieve your goals and improve your well-being.
I am trained in a number of evidence-based psychological therapies and use a range of approaches. The type of approach used will depend on your individual needs and this will be discussed collaboratively with you. The main therapeutic approaches I use include:
- Acceptance & Commitment Therapy (ACT)
- Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)
- Compassion Focussed Therapy (CFT)
